The decaffeination process

The decaffeinated coffee is obtained by removing the caffeine from the bean before it is roasted. Lavazza applies this process in its manufacturing plant in Pozzilli, dedicated exclusively to the decaffeination of green coffee. The process adopted by Lavazza is unique because it does not use solvents and uses carbon dioxide to better preserve the coffee’s original organoleptic characteristics and aromas.
